Volunteer & Help Make Our Vision a Reality!   Volunteer Opportunities with campus activities:  Assist at Freshmen Registration days during August Staff the Pirate Stadium Snack Bar during athletic events Chaperone at school dances & events Staff sales/membership table at various events such as 'Back to School' night, 'Pirate Night for Future Freshmen', and Fall and Spring Open House events. Organize and staff the Disneyland 'Grad Nite' ticket sales booth & chaperone the event, which is open to SPHS Seniors only Staff SPHS Yearbook distribution and Cap & Gown distribution Staff SPHS Senior Class activities including 'Senior Egg Hunt', 'Senior Extravaganza', 'Senior Breakfast' plus provide Honors Convocation Reception and assist at Graduation Rehearsal. Fundraising Opportunities benefiting SPHS students through Lady Boosters: Lady Boosters engages in many forms of fundraising throughout the year.  Since 2005, we have conducted these fundraisers: Sold 'blinky lights' magnetic pins featuring a skull and cross bones with flashing LED lights and 'Class of 2007' blinky light pins. Conducted a Lady Boosters - Tupperware fundraiser that brought more than $300 to our coffers Conducted an opportunity drawing in Fall 2005 for two tickets to attend "Alibi on Board", a murder-mystery dinner cruise, with roundtrip limousine service for the winners. Sponsored a 'Candlelight' fundraiser in Spring 2006 that netted us over $100 Sold SPHS 'commuter mugs' at 'First Thursday', 'Music by the Sea Concert' and 'Taste in San Pedro' events, as well as at SPHS's Oktoberfest, Back to School night, and Freshmen Orientation for Parents and Students, and from the Pirate Stadium Snack Bar during athletic events and tournaments. By far, one of our most successful events to date was co-sponsoring SPHS's 'Centennial Gala' in April 2003 with the capable assistance and enthusiasm that the Centennial Gala Committee brought to the table.  The funds raised at this event paid for the new L.A. City Championship Girls' Softball Team LED Scoreboard and its installation! Manage and run the Pirate Stadium Snack Bar, providing fans with hot and cold food, beverages, popcorn, candy and other goodies to enjoy during events at the stadium. All net profits from this enterprise help fund programs and events enjoyed by students at San Pedro High School. At each 'regular' monthly SPHS Lady Boosters meeting, a 50-50 fundraiser is held with half the proceeds awarded to the member or guest holding the winning ticket and the other half going to the Lady Boosters treasury. At 'special' functions, such as the Holiday Dinner and Installation Dinner, donated prizes are offered through opportunity drawings with all the ticket proceeds going to the Lady Boosters treasury. Passive fundraisers include eScrip where purchases made at certain retailers, or when using registered credit/debit cards in-person or on-line earn Lady Boosters a percentage of the sale, Albertsons/Sav-On registered 'Community Partners' cards when used also earn Lady Boosters a percentage of the sale, and iGive where registered members can make purchases at on-line merchants and earn Lady Boosters up to 26% of the sales generated.  Please see the 'Passive Fundraisers' information webpage on this website for more information about signing up for all or any of these three fundraising opportunities. Approximately 99% of all funds raised by SPHS Lady Boosters supports the students and programs at San Pedro High School.  Less than one percent of all revenue raised, whether through fundraisers, membership dues or special events, is spent administering programs, thanks primarily to the generosity of our members, the community who supports us and local retailers and wholesalers.
